Facilities Maintenance Tech
I. Position: Building and Maintenance Technician
II. Job Summary (Essential Functions): Clubhouse & property equipment
III. Job Tasks (Additional Responsibilities)
- Maintains and makes general repairs to the plumbing fixtures, furniture, woodwork, electrical systems, appliances, elevators, ventilation systems and building structures of the club.
- Conducts repairs to plumbing, such as leaking pipes and faucets and clogged drains.
- Performs various duties involving painting, plumbing, carpentry and electrical work.
- Maintains the air conditioning, refrigerators, ice makers and pool pumps.
- In some clubs, the maintenance and repair mechanic also:
- Supervise the filtration and chlorination of swimming pool and spa
- testing daily of water chemicals
- maintain daily log of water test results for health department inspections
- Performs routine preventive maintenance (PM) required by club’s operating procedures.
- Installs tile, drywall; makes grouting repairs, patches walls and paves brick.
- Repairs small motors.
- Attends departmental staff meetings.
- Completes other appropriate assignments made by the maintenance and repair manager or other manager on duty.
IV. Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must often lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
V. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days may vary each week. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00p.m. and must work at least 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status. This position may require long hours and frequent weekend work.
VI. Required Education and Experience
- 1. HS diploma, associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2. 2 or more years of experience in the Hospitality industry a plus.
