We are seeking a reliable and trustworthy Fitness and Pool Attendant to look after our guests and manage The Curve grounds inside and out. In this role, you will be required to welcome and attend to our guests, enforce safety rules, and manage fitness & pool equipment and facilities, among other duties.
To be a successful fitness & pool attendant, you will need to have excellent customer service skills, be highly organized, and have a good knowledge of swimming pool equipment and maintenance. A skilled fitness & pool attendant should be friendly, physically fit, and be able to assist swimmers in danger when necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Setting up umbrellas, loungers, and other pool furniture.
- Ensuring that the swimming pool, furniture, and facilities are clean and safe.
- Welcoming guests and ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Providing guests with towels, shade, refreshments, and attending to their requests.
- Clearing used towels, glasses, and trash.
- Enforcing safety protocols as set out by the club.
- Monitoring the activity of guests and ensuring their safety.
- Reporting any damages or incidences to the supervisor or Manager on Duty.
- Managing the swimming pool cleaning schedule and performing daily inspections.
- Employees will arrive to work on time for their scheduled shift.
- Keep dumbbells neat and in order.
- Warmly greet membership as they arrive to the facility
- Answer Fitness Center telephone (561-487-6292) and take proper action (message etc.).
- Make sure all attachments are with the proper machines or placed on the accessory rack.
- Make sure all exercise equipment (plates, bands, steps, etc.) is in its proper place.
- Check pool area, locker rooms, basketball courts, bike rack for neatness.
- Carry fallen palm branches to the curb for daily pick up by landscaping team.
- Roll clean towels.
- Clean and tidy multipurpose and Pilates rooms in between classes and prior to ending shift. Replace cups as needed.
- Aid anyone in the Fitness Center that needs or asks for assistance.
- Make sure everyone signs in upon entering the Fitness Center. Writing must be legible.
- Keep stretch area neat and orderly.
- Make sure all people using the Fitness Center abide by all rules.
- Wear the proper uniform. A proper uniform consists of shirt provided by Boca Grove, black or navy shorts, pants or gym pants (no jeans), and name tags worn in the chest area.
- Be sure all floor time is recorded on a timecard. Hours not recorded will not be paid. Any disagreement in pay must be made known to the Sports and Wellness Director or Manager on duty no later than Friday following payday (one week).
- Attending periodic staff meetings held by Sports and Wellness Director.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: High school degree or GED and at least 1 year in hospitality experience. Maintain and renew CPR & First Aid Certificate.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Great communication, time management and pleasant demeanor if a requirement.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
